Walk to State was founded in 2008, when three recent graduates recognized the potential in a renovation project near campus in Raleigh.

What began as a single investment quickly revealed an underserved niche in student housing – one that valued attentive management, thoughtful improvements, and a more hands-on approach.

In the early years, we worked closely with neighboring property owners, assisting with everything from lawn care and tenant placement to repairs and renovations. We continue this same neighborly service today and our experience has helped us identify a clear direction: a commitment to care rooted in accountability, responsiveness, and local expertise.

After becoming licensed North Carolina real estate brokers and general contractors, we continued to grow organically – primarily through referrals from satisfied owners and tenants.

Today, we manage more than 150 properties, while maintaining the level of detail and personal interaction that defined our early work. Our structure is intentionally lean, allowing us to operate efficiently, communicate directly, and respond promptly. For our clients, this means consistent access, clear answers, and a team that remains closely involved in every aspect of their investment journey.
